How the
Economy works

Earn money, spend it, and keep your stuff safe. Everything you need, one step at a time.

Two quick basics. Commands start with / and are typed in chat (press T on Java, or tap the chat icon on Bedrock). In this guide, right-click means “use” (tap on mobile, left trigger on controller) and punch means left-click / hit (hold on mobile, right trigger on controller).

Your first 10 minutes

  1. Join the server at eco.lgcraft.net (how to join). You get a set of stone tools to start.
  2. Check your wallet: type /bal. Everyone starts with $500.
  3. Walk at least 100 blocks from spawn, then build a base. Nobody can build near spawn. Out there, your first chest automatically protects a small area around it.
  4. Protect more land with a golden shovel. See Protect your base.
  5. Save your home: stand inside and type /sethome. Now /home brings you back (teleports have a 5-minute cooldown).
  6. Look at prices: type /shop to see what things cost and what the server pays. That's how you'll make money.

How money works

Money is the heart of the server. You make it by collecting things other people want, then use it to buy what you need.

/bal See how much money you have.

/pay Steve 100 Send $100 to the player Steve.

/baltop See the richest players on the server.

Your balance can never go below $0, so you can't end up in debt.

The server shop

The server always buys and sells, day or night, even when nobody else is online.

Buying and selling in /shop

  1. Type /shop and pick a category (Building, Farming, Resources, and so on).
  2. Left-click an item to buy it.
  3. Right-click an item to sell it (you need it in your inventory).
  4. Shift + right-click sells every one of that item you're carrying.

The fastest way to cash in

  1. Type /sellgui. A chest screen opens.
  2. Drop in everything you want to sell.
  3. Close it. You get paid for every item the server buys, and anything it doesn't buy comes back to you.

Shortcuts: /sellall hand sells what you're holding, and /sellall inventory sells everything sellable you're carrying. Careful: that includes your tools and diamonds!

Pro tip: the server buys items for much less than it sells them for. Other players will often pay you more than the server does, so check the auction house and player shops before you dump valuable loot.

Open your own shop

Turn any chest into a store. It keeps selling while you're offline, and the money goes straight to your balance.

Make a shop in 4 steps

  1. Place a chest on your claimed land, at least 100 blocks from spawn.
  2. Hold the item you want to sell, for example wheat.
  3. Punch the chest while holding it.
  4. Type the price for one item in chat, for example 0.5, and press Enter.

Now fill the chest with wheat. A player buying 64 wheat pays 64 × $0.50 = $32. A sign shows the item and price, and a floating item shows what's for sale.

Selling shop

You stock the chest; players buy from you. This is the default.

Buying shop

Players sell to you and you pay them. Look at your shop and type /qs buy, and keep money in your balance.

Good to know: making a shop is free. The server keeps a 5% tax on each sale, and changing a shop's price later costs $50, so pick your price carefully. To use someone's shop, punch the chest or its sign and type how many you want.

The auction house

Sell to everyone on the server at once, no shop needed. Great for rare loot, enchanted gear, and stuff you only have one of.

Sell something

  1. Hold the item.
  2. Type /ah sell 500 to list it for $500.
  3. When someone buys it, the money is yours automatically.

Buy something

  1. Type /ah to open the auction house.
  2. Browse the listings.
  3. Click an item and confirm to buy it.
  • You can have up to 10 items listed at once.
  • Listings last 2 days. Unsold items move to your Expired items in /ah.
  • Pick up expired items within 7 days, or they're gone for good.
  • No listing fee and no tax: you keep the full price.

Protect your base

Claimed land is yours. Nobody else can break blocks, open chests, or use your stuff there unless you let them. Spawn is a no-build zone: you can open doors and chests there, but not place or break blocks. Right-click with a stick near spawn to see its border, then claim and build outside it (at least 100 blocks from spawn).

Claim land with a golden shovel

  1. Craft or buy a golden shovel and hold it.
  2. Right-click the ground at one corner of your base.
  3. Walk to the opposite corner and right-click again.
  4. Done! Glowing blocks show your claim's edges.

Claims must be at least 5 blocks wide and cover 100 blocks of ground (10×10). To make a claim bigger, right-click one of its corners with the shovel, then right-click where you want the new corner.

Claim blocks

Claims use claim blocks: a 10×10 claim costs 100. You start with 100 and earn 100 more for every hour you play. Hold a golden shovel to see how many you have.

Check an area

Right-click with a stick to see who owns the land and where its border is. This also shows the spawn border. /claimslist lists all your claims.

/trust Steve Let Steve build in the claim you're standing in.

/containertrust Steve Let Steve use chests and furnaces, but not build.

/untrust Steve Take it back.

/abandonclaim Delete the claim you're standing in and get all its claim blocks back.

Peace of mind: every block placed or broken is logged, so staff can undo griefing even outside claims. Claims of players who don't log in for 60 days may be removed.

Getting around

/sethome Save your spot as home. Add a name to save up to 3: /sethome mine.

/home Go home, or /home mine for a named one. /delhome mine deletes it.

/tpa Steve Ask to teleport to Steve. They type /tpaccept (or /tpdeny).

/tpahere Steve Ask Steve to teleport to you.

/spawn Go back to spawn.

Teleports take 3 seconds, so stand still or they cancel. After a teleport, you have to wait 5 minutes before the next one, so choose where you go carefully.

FAQ

How do I get a free diamond?

Vote for us on minecraft-server-list.com, minecraftservers.org, and minecraft-serverlist.com with your in-game username. Each list gives you one diamond per vote, once every 24 hours, so you can get up to three diamonds a day. Type /vote in game for the links. If you vote while offline, the diamond arrives the next time you join. minecraft-server-list.com only accepts Java Edition accounts.

What's the fastest way to make money as a new player?

Farm or mine something in bulk and sell it with /sellgui. Check /shop to see what pays best. Once you have spare cash, open a chest shop selling things people always need, like food, wood, and building blocks.

I play on Bedrock (phone, console, Windows). Does this all work for me?

Yes, everything in the game works the same. Your name starts with a dot (like .Steve), so include the dot when you use /pay or /tpa: /pay .Steve 50. The one exception is voting: the vote site only accepts Java Edition accounts.

Can other players attack me?

No. Emerald Hills is PvE: PvP is off everywhere, so players can't hurt each other. Mobs, lava, and falls still can, so stay careful.

Can I lose my money if I die?

No. Your balance is safe no matter what happens in-game, and it can't go below $0. Items you carry do drop where you die, though, and there's no teleport back, so set a /home near where you explore and bring only what you can afford to lose.

Someone griefed or stole from me. What do I do?

Don't fix it yourself yet. Tell a staff member in chat or on our . Every block change is logged, so staff can see who did it and roll it back.

My claim won't go where I want.

It may overlap someone else's claim, be smaller than 10×10, or need more claim blocks than you have. Hold the golden shovel to see your claim blocks, and play a bit longer to earn more.

I'm stuck, lost, or trapped.

Type /spawn, or /home if you've set one.
